Funding
Grants for green investment and circular innovation
Other funding
Finance investments and innovation projects that reduce environmental impact and improve resource efficiency
Companies can reduce their environmental impact through two complementary approaches: investing in cleaner and more efficient equipment and infrastructure, or innovating in products, processes and business models to move towards a more circular economy.
At Bavion, we assess the environmental objective and project characteristics, identify the appropriate funding line and prepare and manage the technical proposal, environmental impact calculations, eligible budget, application, interview and subsequent justification.
The appropriate funding line depends on whether the environmental improvement comes primarily from a productive investment or from an innovation in the company's products, processes or business model.
Planning a sustainability or circular economy project for 2027?
Green investment for environmental impact reduction
Support for companies investing in renewable energy, electrification, cleaner technologies, more efficient equipment and energy-management systems that achieve a measurable reduction in environmental impact.
Invest in cleaner and more efficient productive operations
The programme supports new renewable-energy installations for self-consumption, including solar, wind, geothermal and renewable-fuel solutions under the conditions established by the programme.
It can also support the adaptation or replacement of existing equipment to move away from non-renewable energy sources, including electrification of industrial processes, renewable fuels, energy storage, grid-flexibility solutions and certain charging infrastructure.
Companies can adapt or replace existing equipment and installations to incorporate Best Available Techniques or technologies included in the Basque List of Clean Technologies, provided that the specific conditions of the programme are met.
Retrofitting of existing machinery can also qualify when it genuinely improves its environmental performance and meets the applicable technical requirements.
The programme supports the adaptation or replacement of equipment and installations that significantly reduce energy consumption, use of non-renewable raw materials, waste generation or emissions in productive and auxiliary processes.
Projects can include more efficient production equipment, waste-heat recovery, emissions-abatement systems, CO₂ capture and use, internal logistics equipment and more efficient industrial heating or cooling systems.
Integrated energy-demand management systems combining metering equipment, regulation and control devices and software for monitoring and automatically optimising energy consumption can also be funded.
At Bavion, we analyse the baseline situation and expected environmental improvement, structure the investment and technical justification, define the eligible costs and prepare the application, supporting documentation and subsequent justification.
Under the 2026 call, support can reach 50% of eligible expenditure, with a maximum grant of €100,000 per company.
Environmental innovation and circular economy
Support for innovation projects that introduce significant changes in products, services, processes or business models and generate a measurable reduction in the company's environmental footprint.
Turn environmental improvement into business innovation
Projects can redesign products and services to reduce their environmental impact throughout the lifecycle, for example by increasing useful life, reducing material intensity, incorporating secondary or lower-impact materials or improving performance during use.
They can also introduce design principles that facilitate repair, reuse, disassembly, remanufacturing, recycling and environmentally optimised end-of-life management.
The programme supports innovation in production and business processes that reduces environmental impact through lower emissions, reduced energy or material consumption, energy recovery, improved waste separation and reuse or the upcycling of waste and by-products.
The project must introduce a meaningful change compared with the company's previous processes and generate a measurable environmental improvement.
Circular innovation can also affect the company's business model through product-service systems, servitisation, shared-use models, optimised distribution and commercial models or other approaches that extend product use and reduce the consumption of materials and resources.
The key requirement is that the new model generates a clear reduction in the environmental footprint of the company's products, services or activities.
A circular-economy project must demonstrate more than a general sustainability benefit. The application must quantify the expected environmental improvement using pre-project metrics and post-project estimates for carbon footprint, waste generation, raw-material consumption or other relevant environmental indicators.
At Bavion, we structure the baseline, innovation, work plan, environmental indicators, resources and economic plan and prepare the technical proposal and team for the assessment process.
Under the 2026 call, external expenditure and internal personnel receive 50% support and investment 15%, with a maximum total grant of €120,000 and a €25,000 cap on the grant corresponding to internal personnel.
Why manage your sustainability grants with Bavion?
Right funding line
We determine whether the project should be structured as a green investment or as an environmental innovation project before preparing the application.
Measurable environmental impact
We establish the baseline and quantify the expected improvement through relevant environmental indicators.
Technical project structure
We connect technology, activities, resources, environmental objectives and expected results within one coherent proposal.
Eligible and traceable budget
We classify investments, external services and internal personnel according to the conditions applicable to each line.
Assessment and interview preparation
We structure the proposal around the aspects assessed by the programme and prepare the company team for the project interview.
Monitoring and justification
We maintain consistency between the approved project, implementation, environmental results, expenditure and final evidence.
2i
Finance broader business innovation projects that combine significant technological or organisational change with the advanced investment required for implementation.
